Stephen J. Buividas, Esq. for Mayor
Stephen J. Buividas has pledged that, as Mayor, he will focus on, a balanced budget, reduction in taxes, and a return in moral leadership. Stephen is the best candidate for Mayor because he works toward action, not debating, provides strong leadership in tough times, does what's right, listens when necessary and acts when needed and is an excellent financial manager. In addition, he is qualified because of his lifelong domicile to this community and his strength of conviction.
Stephen has comprehensive legal experience in both residential and commercial real estate business, including the creation of the contract through the closing of the transaction. His legal background includes, but is not limited to, litigation and successful resolution of complex matters related to buying and selling of businesses, contractual disputes, traffic matters and voluminous real estate transactions. Stephen’s Law Practice has been located in Cherry Hill for the past eleven years. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar and Camden County Bar Associations. He has successful executive experience in building a title/abstract company, as President/CEO, to substantial growth and value which resulted in an acquisition within a three year period.
Stephen earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania where he attained a double major in Political Science and History. He also pursued advanced studies in Law while attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where he received his Juris Doctor Degree. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Stephen is admitted to practice before United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania.
He has volunteered his time to umpire the Cherry Hill American Little League and coach soccer for Cherry Hill Soccer Club and Cherry Hill FC. Stephen lives in the Woodcrest section Cherry Hill with his wife, Elisha and their three children.
Ann Madden Tufano, Esq. for Council
Ann Madden Tufano is running for Cherry Hill Council because she wants to bring a fresh perspective to the township as she advocates for change and serves as a voice for the people. Ann was inspired to seek election for Council because of her concern for rising taxes, decreasing property values, and because of the increasing number of residents and businesses leaving Cherry Hill.
experienced trial attorney and business owner, she works hard for her clients, and she has implemented sound fiscal policy to successfully grow her own business. As a mother raising children in our community, Ann is dedicated to making Cherry Hill an even better place to live.
Ann graduated with honors from Elizabethtown College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a concentration in Public Administration, and a minor in Business Administration. She received her law degree from Widener University School of Law, from which she graduated with honors.
Ann is currently serving her second term of appointment by the New Jersey Supreme Court on the District IV Ethics Committee which oversees the conduct of New Jersey attorneys. She is an active member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, the Camden County Bar Association, and the Burlington County Bar Association.
Ann lives in the Fox Hollow section of Cherry Hill with her husband, Ciro, and their two children.
Maria Heckendorn for Council
Maria Heckendorn is a long-time resident of Camden County where she raised two children, Britania and Derek. She currently resides in the Park Place section of Cherry Hill.
Maria is a graduate of Glassboro State College receiving her B.A. and M.A. along with other certifications in the field of Education. During her educational career, Maria was an adjunct professor for Rowan University’s Provisional Teacher’s Program. She was appointed to various state educational committees by the New Jersey Supervisors and Principals Association. During her state appointments she rallied for the rights of all elementary school aged children and was appointed to the Association’s Committee on Curriculum as well.
Beginning her teaching career in Millville as a middle school teacher, Maria later became an Elementary School Principal in Collingswood where she strived to make a positive difference in the lives of young children and their families. She ended her career in education as a School Administrator, the position from which she retired in 2009.
Maria is currently a member of the Cherry Hill Lions Club, and the South Jersey Chamber of Commerce. She was recently appointed to the Cherry Hill Arts Committee and Cherry Hill’s 50th Celebration Committee.
Her ambition is to serve the people of Cherry Hill Twp. as a member of the governing body and strive not only to be a successful Councilwoman, but more importantly, be of value to this community.
Dolores A. Kelly, Ed.D. for Council
Dolores Kelly has taught a variety of courses in elementary education and teacher preparation. In addition to a diversified academic teaching and mentoring portfolio at the elementary, high school, and baccalaureate levels, she has extensive experience in creating and leading customer service seminars in education and business.
Dolores has extensively managed and supervised student teachers; coordinated field placements for teachers; advised graduate students on research and educational coursework; has led leadership courses for adult learners and continuing education participants. She also has developed customer service training and courses for those working or seeking careers in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. At one time, she supervised such training for Northwest Airlines in the company’s Philadelphia offices.
Dolores completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Administration & Supervision at St. Joseph’s University, and her Doctorate at Immaculata University in Administration & Leadership. Prior to teaching in higher education she was an administrator and elementary school teacher in public and parochial schools in Pennsylvania, California, and New Jersey school systems. Her research focus included Peter Senge and his five disciplines of a learning organization and educational leadership with a focus on leaders in vocational high schools. Prior to receiving her doctorate she was employed by Northwest Airlines for a number of years with diverse positions throughout the country.
In recent years, Dolores has taught in two community colleges in New Jersey as an experienced professor of Travel and Tourism; and, one private institution and two Catholic Universities of higher learning, teaching Graduate Education and supervising student teachers. She has been the Director of Field Experiences and chaired a doctoral committee to establish a doctorate program in education
An author of numerous handbooks for education, Dolores also co-published an article on Information Literacy. She has completed writing a biography titled, Albert’s Journey: Footprints of an Immigrant and has presented in community colleges, major businesses, and the airline industry on Customer Service.
